It was another beautiful Saturday evening at the Peoria Speedway with over 100 cars checked into the Pit Area. Ohios Rusty Schlenk and Roger Rebholz would put a show on in the UMP Late Model Feature. Schlenk would jump out early looking to have it in the bag when Rebholz took the new Rocket Chassis to the top shelf and started reeling in the 91 of Schlenk. Rebholz would catch Schlenk coming out of turn 2 and throw a slide job on Schlenk in turns 3 and 4 and would take off with the lead. Schlenk never lost sight as he would track Rebholz down with 4 laps to go and deliver his own slide job in turns 3 and 4 and go on to pick up the win. In the UMP Modified feature Nathan Balensiefen and Derick Doerr would lead the field to the green flag. Balensiefen would get the jump and lead the field out of turn 2. Behind Balensiefen the action would heat up and a good battle for 2nd to 5th would take place. Doerr, Bruce, Jaggers, and Faw would put on a pretty good race and Balensiefen would take off to win his first feature of the season. In the Crate Modifieds Matt Parrott would take control early in the race. 2015 Track Champion Richie Biswell would put the pressure on Parrott as both cars where high wide and handsome around the 1/4 mile. As the two where running for the lead the 62 of Hunter Diebel was cat fishing on the bottom and would reel the two in and make a pass for the lead right before a yellow would come out and stack the field up with 2 laps to go. Diebel would lead Parrott and Biswell to the green and hold them off for his first win of 2016. In the Steel Block feature Jim Hagedorn and Matt Shannon would lead the field to green. Much like last weekend the 14 year old Shannon would jump out to the early lead. With Shannon pulling away some 2 and 3 wide action would take place through the field. Despite a few yellows midway through the feature Shannon would hold off the field and go back to back with feature wins. In the Street Stocks Wally Zander, Keith Miller, and John Farris would put a show on for most the feature. Zander would start to pull away as Farris and Miller would fight for the 2nd spot with Miller low and Farris on the top shelf. Zander would go to pick up the win also making it back to back wins. In the Hornet feature Matt Mackey was the class of the field picking up his 3rd feature win out of 4 races held at the Peoria Speedway in 2016.
